Have a Smooth Wedding Day
I recently had the opportunity to be a wedding coordinator for a good friends wedding. My attempt at being in multiple places at one time was made easier by having walkie talkies.
There was one walkie talkie for the bride, the bridal party, one for the groomsmen, and I myself had one. This way I could keep track of anything that anyone needed. It also made it easier to multi-task. I could be calling the cater and still be in touch with the bride. This also makes the stress much less on the bride. She can have her needs met and have the comfort knowing that things are being done without ever leaving her room.
The walkie talkies gave me, the wedding coordinator a chance to be doing what needed to be done without having to run up and down the stairs as much. I also had the ease of communication without having to search around the place for the people I needed to talk too. I remember at one point the cake had not arrived yet and I was running around crazy ok, frantic just trying to find someone who knew what was going on, and then the groom beeping me to tell me that the wedding had started. This gave me a good notice to get downstairs, tell the bride its time to go, and gave me the chance to get her down the isle. Then once everyone was out of the place enjoying the ceremony I could find the cake. Thankfully I did find the cake, but let's say that I did not or that the delivery was for some reason running late. The walkie talkie would have given me the opportunity to let the maid of honor know so that they could stall bringing everyone upstairs. Something like Champaign outside could have been arranged. Anything to make the wedding run smoothly for the bride.
Having walking talkies can definitely be a lifesaver. I definitely do believe that no bride should ever be without a set of walkie talkies. Unless of course she is a bridezilla and in that case, remember you can always turn the walkie talkie off ha-ha!
