Zimzala Restaurant Cabaret
Zimzala Restaurant - Pacific Coast Highway - Huntington Beach CA introduces their Cabaret series!
Many non-beach bums may consider this restaurant's name to be typo; true beach combers will recognize Zimzala as defined as a "free-spirited person who finds peace with the sand between their toes." The self-described "living room of Huntington Beach," Zimzala is "the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the company of others as you share your stories of the day's activities." Nowhere on Huntington Beach is better suited to such a freewheeling form of performance like a cabaret than Zimzala.
Many people may wonder just what is a cabaret. If you ask Liza Minnelli she'll tell you that life is a cabaret, old chum! The truth is somewhat a bit more grounded than that. A cabaret is performance at a bar or restaurant; establishments open up the floor to musical numbers and dancers, specifically, each showcasing some short bit of entertainment. This type of performance can range from the criminally bad to the inspiringly good. The show at Zimzala promises the latter as they strive to "celebrate a re-discovery of this fun entertainment art form."
The cabaret series at the Zimzala looks to start out in as high a style as they are known for with the Blue Angel Vodka Hour beginning at 6:30PM. Follow that up with dinner seating which commences at 7:15 and the cabaret show rearing its head for an 8PM curtain. Cabaret events are usually a lot of fun and this looks to be just as true at Zimzala. When I got word of this event they had just the three events planned in the months of February, March, and April. I don't know if this is going to be a regular occurrence or if the cabaret series at Zimzala will be more of a seasonal or one-off event.
The shake-out of the cabaret is as follows: a $65 ticket gets you in the door and with a seat at a three-course meal from Executive Chef Vincent Muraco; which is also your seat for the cabaret. In addition to the food and the entertainment, attendees will be granted one cocktail from the Blue Angel reception.
At Zimzala "...its beachside dining atmosphere is serene and sophisticated, yet casual and hip." If you are in the search for a place that's tragically hip, Zimzala is it. To truly capture the mood of the space come enjoy the cabaret this February, March or April. You'll be left singing your own tune following the Zimzala Restaurant and Shorebreak Hotel cabaret!
