Jacks Pacific Eyeclops Night Vision Goggles Review
Night vision goggles from Walmart? How good can they be? Actually, for $65 or so they are amazing. I needed goggles because in airsoft, one really can't use a monocular. Then I found the EyeClops Night Vision.
the goggles are built very well. All of the straps are made of thick rubber that will hold. The actual unit is made of a decent plastic. The whole unit is essentially a camera and a monitor, so during the day or bright lights, the camera simply adjusts and there's no damage to the unit due to light. The battery box is made with quality parts; however, the battery box door is closed with two screws and is also attached to the top strap, so the battery box door is a key piece to hold the thing together. The viewing camera is positioned between your eyes, however, the monitor inside the goggles is in your right eye, so there is a little disorientation until you get used to wearing them.

On your left eye, there is a cover that opens so you may see with your left eye without taking off the goggles. This cover has plenty of room for housing another IR light unit, either a single IR LED with a reflecting cone or multiple LEDs hooked up to an external battery box. (There's plenty of exterior room to fit a battery box). There are two different IR light settings built in: Low and High. High mode gives a brighter light; however, there is a slight red glow in the bulbs that, at close range, could give away your position. There is also an option to switch the viewing monitor from "Night Vision" green to regular black and white. (The camera is actually a color camera, if you look at say a red LCD clock, the digits will be red; however, everything else will be B W;) The straps are a little short. They will fit, but I have a large head, and anything larger than my head probably will not work.

Actual Function
Once you get used to having this on your head, it is not that bad. Inside, even on Low power, it's like daytime. You can see everything easily. Navigating will take some getting used to, but it is 20x better than not seeing at all. Outside, things are a little different. It is impossible to see anything over 40 feet, even on High Power. Closer than 40 feet is a little hard to see, but is in view. With another IR light, you may be able to see further/better. No matter how hard you try, you will not be able to use rifle sights with this, unless your scope/sights are raised a decent amount. Then, even if they are, you will be putting the scope to your forehead, not your eye, so that will be awkward. So the only practical shooting will have to be done with a pistol.

2. Can't see as far as other Night vision devices
Final Notes
For $65, these are with it, even if you don't play airsoft. You could easily navigate through the woods without being seen, or sneak around buildings in an urban environment. These goggles are simply awesome.
